Inclusion at Boorley

Through our ethos of Inspiring Minds, Nurturing Futures and Strengthening Community, here at Boorley we aim to promote a strong culture of inclusion and diversity.

Excitingly, we have a new Inclusion and Diversity steering group that is made up of a variety of school stakeholders, including family of pupils, school staff and members of the community. The aim of this group is to bring a variety of perspectives to the table to reflect on and evaluate areas of success at school as well as areas in which we can continue to improve to ensure all feel safe, seen and heard.

As a group, we are working towards the following mission statements:

We hope that children will leave Boorley as kind, independent thinkers open to new ideas and with confidence to celebrate, understand and ask questions about themselves and others.

We aim for Boorley Park to be a safe place for children to share their questions, beliefs and true selves whilst exposing them to a variety of lived experiences and knowledge to empower them to be tolerant upstanders in the community. Boorley Park will be a place where children feel a strong sense of belonging and see themselves represented throughout all aspects of school life.

The minutes for each meeting can be found at the bottom of this page. We are excited to be on this journey of driving continuous improvement and would welcome any further viewpoints. If you would like to be a part of the steering group, please contact Mr Cannons via the office.

Inclusion and Diversity Video
The school council, along with Mrs Talbot, have been busy designing and creating a video to celebrate inclusion at Boorley. The children came up with the storyboard and what they wanted to include and, along with some necessary adaptations during production, filmed a wonderful celebration of Boorley. We hope you enjoy it!

 Future Focused Friday World Cultures

One of our Future Focused Friday groups has been based around World Cultures. They have done lots of research into what school looks like for children around the world, and have also looked at the cultures we are lucky enough to have within our community. Every class has families with links across the world, and it is fantastic to see this represented with stars on the world maps for each class. We are lucky to have such a diverse community! The group held an exhibition of their work for parents and carers to visit, to celebrate the community that we have.
