School Uniform at Boorley Park School

At Boorley Park Primary School, we uphold high standards for our school uniform, which we believe fosters a sense of community and pride amongst our pupils. We aim for our uniform code to be inclusive, practical and smart. We expect parents and carers to ensure that children arrive at school in the correct uniform. In the rare instance where medical reasons necessitate a deviation from the uniform code, we kindly request a note explaining the temporary change.

Our school community values high standards and we believe that our uniform policy plays an important role in upholding these values.

We maintain a clear uniform policy to ensure that every child can attend school feeling equal. By setting this expectation, we aim to remove appearance as a factor that could advantage or disadvantage any child, regardless of fashion preferences or socio-economic background.

We firmly believe that this fundamental equality is a right for all children in education and is essential for a caring and safe learning environment.

Value for Money
Boorley Park Primary School is committed to ensuring that our uniform policy and suppliers offer value for money and that the cost of uniform is never a barrier to a child's education. To achieve this, we ensure the following:

• Multiple suppliers are available for the majority of our uniform requirements, offering both competitive pricing and convenience for parents.
• We balance uniform costs and durability to provide good value.
• The school operates a system for collecting and storing donated, good-quality second-hand uniform items, which are available free of charge to families who may benefit from them. Please contact the school office if you would like to access this.
• We are committed to supporting families facing financial hardship that may impact their ability to meet our uniform expectations. We encourage parents to discuss their circumstances with us on a case-by-case basis so we can explore appropriate assistance.
• Our basic school uniform features minimal branding and a limited colour palette, making it easier for parents to find suitable and affordable alternatives in high street stores that still meet our guidelines.
• The basic school uniform is suitable for wear throughout the academic year and we do not require separate summer and winter uniforms.
• There are no specific requirements for coats or bags, other than that they should be appropriate for school and as small as possible in size.
